KU’UPA’ALOA
Our red sailing canoe, the Ku‘upa‘aloa, has been in the family for over 20 years. The vessel is fit to carry up to 6 passengers. This canoe stands at 43 feet long and has traveled all through the Hawaiian Islands. She finds her home where the river meets the ocean at the St. Regis Princeville Resort.
MEHERIO
Her name is Meherio, which in Tahitian means mermaid. This double hull sailing canoe was handcrafted from the ground up. This canoe can seat up to 8. The Meheiro is favored for wedding ceremonies with its elegant look and photogenic appeal.
SAILING LESSONS
Learn the traditional art of Hawaiian sailing. We will teach you the techniques of rigging and setting sail. Learn how to use a paddle to steer and how to surf open ocean swells. We will share stories of the history and culture of Polynesian voyaging and ancient tales of Kaua‘i with you. Experience the Hawaiian chants that come before every voyage and learn the basics of celestial navigation.
